Clock Ticking For Q107.5/Memphis

• Looks like the end of the road for Flinn Top 40 WHBQ-FM (Q107.5)/Memphis, as the company announced the frequency will give way to an FM simulcast of Sports-Talk sister WHBQ-AM/W253DF (Sports 56 & 98.5) next Tuesday, Sept. 8, boosting that format to a more powerful signal. The announcement of the impending flip was posted to social.

Those classic WHBQ calls were synonymous with Wink Martindale and Rick Dees back in the day. In Sept. 2020 the station flipped to Classic Hits, before flipping back to its Top 40 roots in June 2023.

So far there has been no word on the status of the staff, including longtime OM Chris Taylor, or if the company will move the format to another frequency. Watch this space.
