Super Hi-Fi Names James Mgr., Stations Ops

Super Hi-Fi, the leader in high margin radio, has inked veteran programmer Nathan James as Manager, Station Operations, expanding its Radio Services team as the company continues its rapid growth with broadcast partners across the country.

James joins Super Hi-Fi from DBC Radio in Savannah/Hilton Head, where he has served as Operations Manager for the company’s six-station cluster for the past four years. Prior stops include Director of Marketing, Promotions, Events & Digital for SummitMedia Richmond, Director of Marketing Partnerships & Promotions for Adams Radio of Delmarva (and PD/afternoons for Country WUSX/Salisbury-Ocean City), Director of Marketing for iHeartMedia Philadelphia and Director of Integrated Media for iHeart’s Virginia-Carolina Region. Earlier stops include Max Media and Entercom in Norfolk/Virginia Beach.

James will report to Bo Matthews, Director of Radio Services, who said, “I’ve admired Nathan’s work for years because his stations simply sound great. He has that rare combination of creativity, technical command and relentless attention to detail. We used to joke that syndicated shows sounded better on Nathan’s stations than they did in their home markets. That’s the standard he sets.” Matthews added, “What we’re building at Super Hi-Fi is changing what’s possible for radio. The technology gives broadcasters capabilities they’ve never had before, but great radio still requires great programmers who understand how to use those tools to create something listeners actually want to hear. Nathan is a builder, he cares deeply about the craft, and he knows how to execute. He’s exactly the kind of person we want on this team.”

“Super Hi-Fi is experiencing tremendous growth in the broadcast space, and as that footprint expands, so does our investment in people who understand how exceptional radio is actually made,” said Zack Zalon, CEO of Super Hi-Fi. “Technology can fundamentally transform the economics and operations of radio, but programming excellence remains at the center of the listener experience. Nathan brings an exceptional combination of operational expertise, creativity and deep radio instincts. He is exactly the kind of person we want helping us build the future of radio.”

“I’m incredibly excited to join Super Hi-Fi at such an important moment for both the company and the radio industry,” said James. “I’ve spent my career obsessed with making radio stations sound better, building stronger brands and finding creative ways to connect with listeners. Super Hi-Fi is giving broadcasters an entirely new set of tools to do those things at a scale that simply wasn’t possible before. I can’t wait to work alongside this team and our radio partners to build what comes next.” James is on the job and can be congratulated Nathan.James@superhifi.com.
