‘He’s A Pinball Wizard…’
The Karlson and McKenzie Morning Show on CBS Radio Classic Rock WZLX/Boston recently joined forces with two other area legends — Aerosmith and automotive magnate Ernie Boch Jr., President and CEO of Subaru of New England, to give away a brand-new Aerosmith-branded pinball machine to a lucky WZLX listener. The premise was simple: a pinball tournament would decide the winner.
Twelve finalists joined WZLX at the brand-new LEED Platinum Certified Subaru building in Norwood, MA for a pre-tournament soirée featuring some amazing hors d’oeuvres from Chef Peter of Cibo Matto Caffe. Everyone then retreated to Boch’s private lair, where the Aerosmith pinball machine was nestled alongside his private exotic car collection that includes a Kaiser Darren, an Allard and rare Ferraris and Lamborghinis. Aerosmith also sent 12 autographed items, one for each contestant.
Each contestant was given five minutes of playtime, or three balls each, whichever came first. The winner was Zack Burwick of Brighton, MA, who racked up a ridiculous 18 million-plus points — the highest score on that pinball machine to date!
