Johnson Stays Up Late At KCLB

• Connoisseur Media Palm Springs has promoted James Johnson to 7-midnight host on Mainstream Rock 93.7 KCLB ROCKS. Johnson will retain his existing role as the cluster’s Promotions & Marketing Director.

Johnson discovered his passion for radio nearly a decade ago after years as the lead singer and guitarist for the local indie rock band Brosquitos.  His experience performing live helped shape the energetic, authentic style he now brings to broadcasting, community events, and station promotions. “I grew up in the Coachella Valley,” said Johnson. “Now I get to be part of the soundtrack for the place that raised me.”

“My favorite days are the ones where we get to recognize great people,” said RVP Sommer Frisk. “James has earned every bit of this opportunity, and we’re excited to turn him loose on nights at KCLB-FM. He’s already a trusted voice in the Coachella Valley music scene, and this promotion is long overdue. When you invest in great local people, great things happen.”

OM Todd Violette echoes that sentiment, commenting, “We’re incredibly excited to promote James from within our own team. He’s already proven he’s an outstanding leader in promotions and marketing, bringing creativity, energy, and professionalism to everything he does. Just as importantly, James has an incredible passion for music and is a natural behind the microphone. He has the personality, talent, and work ethic to make a real connection with our listeners, and we couldn’t be happier to have him entertaining the Coachella Valley every night on KCLB. This is a well-earned opportunity, and I know he’s going to do an amazing job.”
