Bob & Sheri Leaving Syndication

• After 30 years in syndication, Bob & Sheri announced that it plans to discontinue distribution to its approximately 50 affiliates, effective Dec. 31, 2026, and will continue as a direct-to-consumer (DTC) brand. Listen to host Sheri Lynch‘s on-air announcement HERE.

“It was a difficult decision to make,” said the show’s co-founder Tony Garcia (lower right). “We were among the first shows to syndicate successfully, the first AC morning show, and the first to feature a woman in the lead role.”

Bob & Sheri entered syndication in 1996, and during its 30-year run, has received many awards and accolades, including 10 Marconi Award nominations (including this year), three Gracie Awards, and induction into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2025. Co-host Bob Lacey retired in Jan. 2025 after 32 years.

“We have a dedicated lineup of affiliates — some who have been with us for three decades,” Garcia noted. “Sheri [Lynch] and I have determined the time is right for us to bow out. We thank our legacy and our more recent affiliates for their support.”

Garcia and Lynch said they have invested heavily in audience research and have used that information to inform all their decisions. “We have been closely following the data from Edison Research, Tom Webster at Sounds Profitable, as well as the research projects we’ve commissioned with Fred and Paul Jacobs, and determined this is the right time to become a direct-to-consumer brand,” Lynch explained.

“I recorded talk-ups into my Radio Shack cassette recorder when I was 12, and started a syndication company at age 19,” Garcia said. “Sheri became hooked on the medium the minute she got behind the mic and became the pre-eminent female talent in the business. We love radio and always will.”

Lynch remarked, “We have had an amazing run. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of meeting so many of our listeners in person. We’re excited about bringing the show directly to them, when and where they want to listen. We will miss Radio, but we’re incredibly excited about the new chapter ahead.”
