Bennett Drives Philly Home On B101

• Longtime Philadelphia air personality Michael Bennett didn’t miss a beat, as he has been awarded afternoon drive on Audacy AC WBEB (B101), following Friday’s retirement of Bill Tafrow.

In a stroke of good fortune, Bennett was already in the building, having most recently done afternoons across the hall on the now former Hot AC sister WTDY (New 96.5), which recently flipped to Country. That frequency is also very familiar territory for Bennett, who has ridden 96.5 through a variety of formats, call letters and dayparts over the past 13 years, including Rhythmic WRDW (Wired 96.5), Top 40 WZMP (96.5 AMP Radio) and WTDY as “Today’s 96.5,” “96.5 TDY, and “The New 96.5.”

In an Instagram post, Bennett said, “This is a dream come true, and I want to thank @onairromeo for believing in me and giving me this opportunity!” He added, “The last couple of weeks have been filled with ALL the emotions, and I can’t believe the amount of messages, texts, and DMs I’ve received. Being a part of your day for the past 13+ years has meant everything to me, and I can’t wait to continue that relationship on B101!”
