Ringo & Los 5 Cover ‘Photograph’
Can you believe that Ringo Starr just turned 77? The legendary Beatles drummer celebrated in style last Friday, July 7 at his annual “Peace & Love” ceremony at the Capitol Records Tower in Hollywood.
Every year on his birthday, Ringo invites his friends and fans to profess his mantra, “Peace and Love” at noon in each time zone around the world. Ringo was joined this year by his wife, Barbara Bach, his brother-in-law Joe Walsh, Edgar Winter, Don Was, Matt Sorum and numerous other industry vets — like up-and-coming band Los 5 and their manager, our pal Terry “T.A.” Anzaldo, who rightly called Ringo, “Our hero!” He added, “Los 5 is so humbled that even when they were signed to Virgin Records we had to sneak onto the lot into this event to meet Ringo and support ‘Peace & Love.’ The guys were really proud to be invited this year… Ringo Rules!”
Later, the boys were thrilled to pose for this awesome souvenir photo — (l-r): Los 5’s Juan Pablo Casillas, Tomas Slemenson and Ismael Cano, Jr., Ringo, Los 5’s Matt Rey and Hector Rodriguez along with T.A. While getting situated with guys, Ringo joked with photographers, “We’re going on tour together and I’m opening for them!”
