Marconi Finalists Announced

The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced the finalists for the 2017 NAB Marconi Radio Awards, which honor radio stations and on-air personalities for excellence in broadcasting. Due to the length of the list, here are just some of the notable 2017 nominees:

• Legendary Station: WCBS-AM/New York; KNX-AM/Los Angeles; WBLS/New York; WQHT/New York; KIIS-FM/Los Angeles.

• Major Market Station: WTOP-FM/Washington; WFAN-FM/New York; KKBQ/Houston; WHTZ/New York; KRTH/Los Angeles. • Major Market Personality: Valentine in the Morning (KBIG/Los Angeles); Funkmaster Flex (WQHT/New York); Big Boy (KRRL/Los Angeles); Raul Brindis (KLTN/Houston); Omar “Omarcillo” Ramos, WVIX-FM/Chicago. •

• Large Market Station: WRIF/Detroit; WTMJ-AM/Milwaukee; KQMV/Seattle; WKRQ/Cincinnati; KYGO/Denver. Large Market Personality: The late Linda Lee (WYCD/Detroit); The Jason and Deb Show (KROX/Austin); Bert Baron (WCTC-AM/New Brunswick, NJ); Dave Smiley, WZPL/Indianapolis; Dave Ryan, (KDWB/Minneapolis).
