• RAMP hears that SummitMedia Rhythmic Top 40 KPHW (Power 104.3)/Honolulu has parted company with longtime PD and morning personality KC as of last Friday. No replacement has been named yet.

KC (left) was a 20-year station vet who was a member of the original airstaff in October 1997 when the station launched as KXME (Xtreme Radio @ 104.3).

• This just in from Danny Howard, Station Manager & Director of Programming for Bahakel Broadcasting in Chattanooga, TN — Triple A WXCT (ALT 93.9) just received a nice signal upgrade, thanks to a new translator frequency at 98.7FM, resulting in a much improved coverage, a more favorable tower site and new handle: ALT 98.7. It’s a move that is already garnering results, as Howard tells RAMP, “We are getting strong feedback from our growing audiences.”

The ALT format launched on 93.9 in November 2016. We are advised to stay tuned for additional announcements in the coming week or so.
