MusiCares There For Irma Victims

MusiCares® recently announced it had established a relief fund to support members of the music community who had been adversely affected by the recent devastation of Hurricane Harvey. Now comes word from Neil Portnow, President/CEO of the Recording Academy/MusiCares that MusiCares is expanding its resources to also help victims of Hurricane Irma.

Portnow said, “MusiCares is offering assistance for a wide range of needs, including basic living expenses; medical expenses; clothing, instrument, and recording equipment replacement; relocation costs; home repairs; and more. Our previous relief efforts include assistance for victims of the Gulf Coast hurricanes, the Nashville floods and Hurricane Sandy; and MusiCares is privileged once again to provide critical support to our music family.

MusiCares’ services are completely confidential, and people seeking assistance can contact the South Regional MusiCares office toll-free at 877.626.2748 or apply online at grammy.com. We are truly grateful to the numerous artists, music industry professionals, and other organizations that are partnering with us to provide hope and help to those in need.” Portnow added, “MusiCares was established by the Recording Academy™ to safeguard the health and welfare of all music people. We are dedicated to being there throughout the year and when disaster strikes members of our music community.”
