Angela Yee Honored By Alma Mater

• Award-winning media personality Angela Yee, a longtime fixture on New York radio and a 2020 inductee into the Radio Hall of Fame, was presented with Poly Prep’s Alumni Association Distinguished Achievement award at Poly’s Reunion Day, on Saturday, April 29. Yee, a 1993 graduate of Poly Prep Country Day, was recognized for her inspirational qualities to lead, succeed, and serve the community.

Earlier this year, following her 12-year run as co-host of the syndicated The Breakfast Club, Yee took the giant step of launching her own nationally syndicated show, Way Up with Angela Yee as she continues to helm her popular relationship and sex podcast, Lip Service.

Outside of her media career, Yee is a serial entrepreneur who is passionate about building businesses that give back to the community — she owns the Juices For Life juice bar in Brooklyn, created Drink Fresh Juice, organic pressed juices distributed in grocers across the country, and co-founded Coffee Uplifts People (CUP), a majority Black-owned coffee company with a brick-and-mortar location in Brooklyn. She also continues to expand her real estate portfolio with multiple properties in New York City, Upstate New York, and Detroit.

Since 1983, the Poly Prep Alumni Association has presented the Distinguished Achievement Award to graduates who have significantly distinguished themselves either in their career or in service to their community. Eligibility for consideration begins after the twenty-fifth year of graduation from Poly.
