Caracciolo Goes Back To School
When presenting Caracciolo (left) with his honorary degree, Dr. David Cohen, President of Five Towns College (right) said, “John has been contributing to the Mass Communication Industry, insuring an independent voice for journalists and serving as a role model for broadcasters for years. Five Towns College is proud to award John Caracciolo with the Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters at its 44th Annual Commencement Exercises.” Caracciolo said, “I am humbled to be a part of this ceremony with such extraordinary students of our medium. Five Towns College is a farm team for our next generation of leaders and content providers and I was blown away by the commitment and dedication the graduating class has for working hard and succeeding in film, TV, radio and digital, we should all be so proud of them.”
Caracciolo was joined on stage by Danny Seraphine (center), founding drummer of the legendary rock band Chicago, who told students he quit school when he was 15 and faced many challenges before achieving success. “Hard work does pay off. Belief, persistence, never giving up,” Seraphine said, before joining students in a rendition of Chicago’s 1972 classic, “Saturday in the Park.”
