CMG To Simulcast Real Country Awards

• Rare Country has teamed up with Cox Media Group’s Country stations to simulcast the Rare Country Awards concert event live from Nashville next Thursday, December 14 at 9pm ET/8pm CT. The event will reveal the winners of the 2017 Rare Country Awards, as determined by fans, and will feature performances by nominees Kane Brown, LANCO and RaeLynn. KKBQ (93Q)/Houston midday talent Christi Brooks and KCYY (Y100)/San Antonio morning co-host JR Jaus will host the one-hour concert, simulcast from ACME Feed & Seed in downtown Nashville. The event will live-stream on RareCountryAwards.com and Rare Country’s Facebook page, and will simulcast on these fine CMG Country stations — KKBQ (93Q)/Houston, KCYY (Y100)/San Antonio, WWKA (K92.3)/Orlando, KWEN (K95.5)/Tulsa, WHKO (K99.1)/Dayton and WNGC & WTSH/Atlanta-North Georgia. Each of these stations is also offering listeners a chance to win a trip to Nashville to attend the Rare Country Awards.

Laurissa Phillips, GM of Rare Country, said, “Tapping into the promotional power of CMG stations is a tremendous asset for us, and we’re thrilled to welcome Christi and JR to Nashville for the live show. Their energy and format expertise make them ideal hosts for the livestream and simulcast.”

Jeff Garrison, format leader for CMG Country and Operations Manager of CMG San Antonio, remarked, “CMG Country stations are very excited to be a part of the Rare Country Awards. Marrying our radio stations with Rare Country’s massive reach is a perfect union for our country listeners.” Voting is currently underway at RareCountryAwards.com and runs through Wednesday, Dec. 13.
