Emmons Named Chief Curator, GRAMMY Museum
• The GRAMMY Museum® announced that Jasen Emmons has joined the company as Chief Curator and VP of Curatorial Affairs. In his role, Emmons will serve as the Museum’s creative leader who provides an overarching vision for exhibitions that speak to music’s rich history as a cultural, social and economic change agent, and also act as primary host of its storied public programs, leading the Museum’s curatorial team of Nicholas Vega, Curator & Director of Exhibitions; Kelsey Goelz, Associate Curator; and Hillary Morimoto, Sr. Registrar & Collections Manager.
Emmons arrives from Seattle, where he spent the past two decades with Experience Music Project — now the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) — most recently as the museum’s Director of Curatorial Affairs. “The GRAMMY Museum is thrilled to welcome Jasen to the leadership team,” said Michael Sticka, President & CEO. “Jasen’s extensive curatorial experience and deep knowledge of music’s historical and cultural significance will be invaluable to supporting the Museum’s mission to celebrate the enduring legacies of all forms of music.”
In his new post, Emmons will report to Rita George, who was recently promoted to Chief Program Officer, and joins the leadership team that includes Michael Sticka, Hilary Fahlsing, VP of Finance, Administration & Operations; Bob Santelli, Founding Executive Director; David Sears, VP of Education for GRAMMY In The Schools®; and Lynne Sheridan, VP, Artist Relations, Public Programming and Content.
“It’s an honor to join the GRAMMY Museum in this role,” said Emmons. “The Museum is a very inspiring place, and I look forward to upholding its commitment to cultivating musical awareness and appreciation through special experiences that connect visitors and audiences in a meaningful way.”
