Honors, Awards, Accolades
• Congrats to Jen Carter, longtime co-host of the XLO Morning Show on Cumulus Hot AC WXLO/Worcester, MA, who was recently recognized as “Best Radio Personality” in Worcester Magazine’s recent “Best of Worcester 2017” special issue. Carter has co-hosted the morning show since 2000, and is active in numerous local charitable organizations. Carter commented, “I’m so excited to have won Worcester Magazine‘s ‘Best On-Air Personality of the Year.’ I appreciate the support of all of the XLO listeners and my amazing co-host Frank Foley. It’s truly been an honor to wake up New England for the past 17 years.”
OM/PD Lance Ballance commented, “The cash prize is considerably less than the Nobel Prize, but we are ecstatic for Jen, nonetheless! Seriously, we are so proud and excited for her.” Worcester Magazine‘s “Best of Worcester Awards” are determined by reader votes. WXLO has previously been honored by the magazine as Best of Worcester “Radio Station of the Year” and has been nominated on many occasions.
• Mid-West Family Mainstream Rock WXRX (104.9 The X)/Rockford, IL is in the process of making room on its hastily constructed lobby mantel to properly display this latest piece of prestigious industry hardware — the station is now the proud recipient of this impressive-looking RAMI (Rockford Area Music Industry) Award. Yes, it is very pointy.
WXRX received this major award during the recent 26th Annual RAMI Awards Gala, when it was presented with the 2017 People’s Choice award for “Best Radio Station.” Afterwards, cake and Hawaiian Punch were served. Congrats to PD Mark Zander and staff!!
