Honors & Memorable Milestones
• Capitol Broadcasting AC WRAL (Mix 101.5)/Raleigh has been named the Radio Station of the Year in Large Market from the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters (NCAB).
In response to winning the award, PD Michele Williams commented, “We at MIX 101.5 are honored to accept the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters’ radio station of the year award for 2017. We thank this amazing community for allowing us to give back through events like our Radiothon for Duke Children’s Hospital, Interfaith Food Shuttle’s Back Pack Buddies Mediathon and our annual Christmas Choir Competition that supports local schools’ music programs. • Beasley Urban WZFX (Foxy 99)/Fayetteville, NC was named Station of the Year (Medium Market) and Ya Girl Nikki, evening entertainer on Beasley Urban sister WPEG (Power 98)/Charlotte took home the award for Large Market Personality of the Year at the 2018 North Carolina Association of Broadcasters Annual Awards Luncheon. The event took place last Thursday, June 14 at Bay 7 in Durham, NC

• The Dr. Bob Martin Show celebrates its 25th anniversary on iHeartMedia News-Talk 550 KFYI/Phoenix. As the press release states, “For two and a half decades, Dr. Bob Martin has provided his listeners with the latest alternative health information and has helped countless numbers of people throughout the Valley by giving wise integrative health advice. In addition to KFYI’s local Saturday offering of The Dr. Bob Martin Show, News-Talk 550 KFYI also airs his rapidly expanding nationally syndicated Sunday show.”
