KINK/Portland’s Hamilton Honored

Alpha Media, Portland, OR is proud to announce that KINK Morning Music Run co-host Sheila Hamilton will receive the prestigious Judy Cushing Celebrating Life Award during the Always Hope 2017 Gala to benefit Lines for Life on Friday, February 24 at the Sentinel Hotel. Lines for Life is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing substance abuse and suicide.

Hamilton is a five-time Emmy Award-winning journalist and author who courageously shared her first-hand experience with losing her husband to suicide in her book, All the Things We Never Knew. She’s also an outspoken advocate for changes in mental health care. Hamilton remarked, “Mental illness, substance abuse and suicide touch so many families in our society. I’m grateful to be honored by Lines for Life, whose trained volunteers deescalate 98% of the over 17,000 suicide line calls received annually. That’s important, lifesaving work.”
