Wiser A Gracie Award Winner

• Meruelo Media is proud to announce that Marci Wiser, midday personality at Classic Rock 95.5 KLOS/Los Angeles has been named the 2021 Gracie Award Winner for Major Market, Music Personality. The Gracie Awards, presented by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation, recognizes exemplary programming created by women, for women and about women in all facets of media and entertainment.

“This Gracie Award validates the incredible honor that it is to work with Marci Wiser,” said Otto Padron, Pres./CEO of Meruelo Media. “2020 was a year unlike any other, yet Marci stood dauntlessly live from our studios flawlessly connecting, entertaining and informing Los Angeles every day with her unique style that made us better, braver and ‘Wiser’ during the scariest days of the pandemic.”

Indeed, Marci’s award-winning year of content creation featured a compelling series of free-form interviews with superstar female artists that centered on coping with the pandemic; what it’s like being a woman in a Rock genre that has historically been dominated by men, and how TikTok has reignited the Rock torch among teenagers. Marci also curated a new commercial-free “workout show,” weekdays at noon for listeners working from home, called “Marci’s Bootcamp,” which still airs each weekday on KLOS.

Commenting on her Gracie Award honor, Wiser said, “I’m truly honored to be recognized by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation. I’m just doing my part to represent the ladies of rock, and I’m grateful for this honor; it means a lot.” She added, “I will always proudly wave the female flag in Rock and support icons like Heart, Joan Jett and Pat Benatar, The Runaways; as well contemporary heroes like Taylor Momsen, Lzzy Hale and Amy Lee; and let’s not forget today’s emerging teenagers that will be gracing the big stages soon, like LuLu from Violet Saturn, Jasmine Star, The Warning and so many more. I’m happy and proud to give female rockers a much deserved and needed outlet.”
