Entercom L.A. Feeds Families In Need
• Entercom Los Angeles this week launched “RADIO.COM’s Feed Our Families,” in partnership with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), an initiative to bring meals to those in need during these difficult times. As part of the partnership, Entercom’s L.A. stations — KROQ, KCBS (93.1 Jack FM), KTWV (94.7 The Wave), KAMP (97.1 AMP), KRTH (K-Earth 101) and KNX 1070 News Radio — will participate in the month-long text-to-donate fundraiser benefitting local students and families in need. From now through August 28, the stations will encourage listeners to donate by texting “NEED” to 76278 or visit need.givesmart.com.
“Schools are a primary source of meals not only for many students but for their family members as well,” said Jeff Federman, Regional President, Entercom. “We’re delighted to partner with Los Angeles Unified School District to amplify our stations’ collective voice so no child or family member in Southern California goes hungry during these unstable times. We look forward to actively promoting the organization’s selfless efforts over the next month and using our platforms to serve our communities.”
The funds raised will support LAUSD’s 63 “Grab & Go Food Centers,” which have provided more than 50 million meals to those most in need, about one-third of whom are adults, since the program started in March.
