Kobe Comes Home To Rochester

• Veteran air personality/programmer Cory “Kobe” Fargo is the newly named PD and afternoon drive talent at Stephens Media Group Alternative WZNE (94.1 the Zone)/Rochester, NY. According to OM Mike McCoy, Fargo will also serve as Digital Content Director and handle Imaging for the Rochester cluster. The move is a literal homecoming for Fargo, a Rochester native who got his first radio break at WPXY/Rochester from 1999-2001. Fargo broke his own news in a tweet that said, “I honestly never thought coming back to the city where it all started would ever be possible.”

The good news is, Kobe gets to keep his New York driver’s license, since he was most recently PD/afternoons at iHeartMedia Top 40 WWHT (Hot 107.9)/Syracuse, NY from April 2015 until January, when he was one of many caught up in the company’s massive downsizing campaign.

Prior to his latest stint in Syracuse, Fargo spent a year on-air at WBZZ (100.7 Star)/Pittsburgh. His previous programming stops include such illustrious calls as WAPE/Jacksonville; WPUP & WGMG/Athens, GA; WBZW/Pittsburgh; WLDI/West Palm Beach; WIHB/Charleston and WFBC/Greenville, SC. Fargo replaces Mark Maira and Shane Allen, a.k.a. The Gentleman’s Club.
