Help Our Radio Brother Sean Demery

• Earlier this year we shared the harrowing story of Sean Demery, a friend of many in our industry, who was stricken with a serious brain stem stroke on January 20. According to his wife Jenn, Sean continues to make slow progress, and is no longer attached to a ventilator. However, he remains paralyzed and can only communicate with his eyes. At the time of his stroke, Demery was programming Alpha Media Triple A KINK/Portland, OR.

At the present time,Demery is no longer employed by Alpha Media and is no longer insured. As you can imagine, Sean’s considerable ongoing medical costs have become a serious obstacle for Sean and Jenn.

This week, our friend Richard Sands (who, like Demery, is a former PD of Live 105/San Francisco) graciously devoted most of the real estate in this week’s Sands Report to an extended update on Demery’s situation, which served as a vital and timely reminder for all of us to a) count our blessings, and b) donate whatever we can afford to the GoFundMe page that has been established to help Sean and Jenn during this most challenging time. In the meantime, we will continue to keep Sean and Jenn in our thoughts and prayers.
