London Bridges Quarter-Century Mark

• We want to extend our very best wishes to one of the really good guys in our industry — Don London, VP of Operations at Entercom Norfolk, who yesterday achieved a rare radio milestone — his 25th anniversary in the building, as evidenced by this awesome flaming cake!

London arrived in Norfolk on August 2, 1993 after a four-year run as PD of WZPL/Indianapolis, hired by then owner Max Media as PD of AC WWDE (2WD) and later added PD stripes for Rhythmic Top 40 WNVZ (Z104). He was later upped to Operations Manager of the group and then VP of Operations for WNVZ, WWDE, Hot AC WPTE (94.9 The Point) and Urban AC WVKL (95-7 R&B FM). [Ed. note: London is now the longest-serving PD of WWDE, WNVZ and WVKL!]

Earlier in his career London programmed WIZM/La Crosse, WI and WHGR-AM & WJGS-FM/Houghton Lake, MI. He was also on the air at WAKY and WQMF/Louisville, KY. Reflecting back on his quarter-century of service to the Norfolk-Newport News-Virginia Beach market, London said, “It’s been an amazing and gratifying journey so far! Radio is such a great medium and Entercom has been so good to me. I’m forever grateful… plus this sure beats working for a living!”

Feel free to share your best wishes with Don at Don.London@entercom.com.
