The Charity That Made Milwaukee Famous

Milwaukee Radio Group’s WKLH (Rock 96-5)/Milwaukee recently wrapped up its annual 36-hour Miracle Marathon for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. A record-breaking number of WKLH listeners called in to kick off the Memorial Day weekend last Thursday and Friday for the 20th anniversary edition of the WKLH Miracle Marathon, which raised an amazing $1,147,683! Morning icon Dave Luczak and crew broadcast live from Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and shared extraordinary stories of hope and inspiration to raise funds and awareness for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. All funds raised during the 36-hour Miracle Marathon stay local and benefit kids at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.

Afterwards, an exhausted-yet-gratified Luczak (pictured here with castmate Dorene Michaels and area students who sold lollipops to raise money to donate), said, “Minnesota has the Mayo Clinic, Cleveland has the Cleveland Clinic, Baltimore has Johns Hopkins. In Milwaukee, we have Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin… one of the top-rated children’s hospitals in the world. They’ve got your back.” The total of $1,147,686 raised by the 2017 WKLH Miracle Marathon represent one of the largest Radiothon events per capita to benefit a hospital partner in Children’s Miracle Network.
