Condolences: Laurie Roberts

• We’ve lost yet another legend — Laurie Roberts, best known for her 30+ years on the air in the San Francisco Bay Area, died Tuesday, May 4, after several years of battling severe foot, knee and mobility issues.

Roberts (pictured here back in the day and more recently with her longtime friend, Greg Kihn), was best known for her stints at legendary San Jose rock radio stations KOME, KSJO and KUFX (98.5 K-Fox), an impressive body of work that earned her a 2011 induction into the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame. More recently Roberts was OM/PD and midday personality for Stephens Media Group Triple A KPIG/Monterey, CA, which posted a loving tribute to Roberts.

Back in 2016, it was Kihn and Robert Berry who organized a GoFundMe campaign to assist Roberts with her considerable medical expenses and help her relocate to more suitable housing.
