Condolences: Wendy Leeds
• UPDATED: Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends and colleagues of music industry veteran Wendy Leeds, the wife of SiriusXM/Pandora executive Steve Leeds and the mother of Katie, whose death we are told was brought on by complications of COVID-19, following a 30-year battle with MS.
Born in Aberdeen, Maryland, Wendy Leeds was a longtime resident of Haworth, NJ. After graduation from Syracuse University, her career in broadcasting began at WXLO/New York, where she worked with Barry Mayo. Wendy was later appointed Music Director of WPIX-FM/New York, which she converted to Smooth Jazz outlet WQCD and was upped to Program Director. She subsequently worked for WNEW-AM and Music Choice.
In addition to her husband Steve and her beloved daughter Katie, an associate director at The Orchard, Wendy Leeds is survived by her mother, Marilyn Silvershein, and brothers Greg (wife Andrea) and Billy (wife Debbie), and her brother-in-law, artist manager Harvey Leeds (wife Nancy), as well as seven nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID restrictions, graveside services will be held privately at Mount Judah Cemetery. The Leeds family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in honor of Wendy Leeds to the MS Clinic at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ.
