Outfield Lead Singer Tony Lewis Dead
• We were saddened to learn that Tony Lewis, the lead singer and bassist from The Outfield, has died at the age of 62. No cause of death has been revealed.
A tweet from Lewis’ Twitter account reads, “It is with great sadness and sorrow to announce that Tony Lewis has unexpectedly passed away. He was a beautiful soul who touched so many lives with his love, his spirit, and his music. He loved his fans dearly and enjoyed every opportunity he had when meeting all of you.”
Lewis and The Outfield are best known for their impossibly hooky 1986 hit, “Your Love,” which reached No. 6 on the Billboard charts. The video for “Your Love” currently boasts more than 300 million views on YouTube.
