NextRadio, the free smartphone app that allows you to hear, see and interact with live, local FM radio, announced the launch of FM radio streaming capabilities for all smartphones including an iOS version for iPhone mobile device users in Mexico. The TagStation-owned NextRadio app utilizes the enabled FM chip inside select Android devices to tune to every local FM radio station. If your Android device has the FM chip enabled, NextRadio saves data and battery life compared to streaming apps and works during emergencies when power is out and cell towers are down. Now, with the option to stream on unsupported devices, NextRadio is the best way to connect to FM radio.

“We’re thrilled that NextRadio is now available for use on both iOS and Android devices in Mexico,” said Paul Brenner, President of TagStation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Emmis Communications Corporation and the power behind NextRadio. “We want to empower all users to enjoy local FM radio without having their content restricted by geographic location or choice of device.”

NextRadio is still committed to unlocking the FM chip in all phones but wanted to offer consumers the choice to listen to live local radio on any phone. NextRadio developed a streaming version until this goal becomes a reality.

The NextRadio app is free on Google Play store and Apple’s App Store.  Message and data rates may apply to use of the NextRadio App.
