• It’s Calgaro: The Next Generation now playing at Woodward Radio Group in Appleton-Green Bay, WI, as RAMP has learned that Jake Calgaro, the son of veteran major market programmer Joe Calgaro has been named as the new midday personality for Active Rock WZOR (Razor 94.7/104.7) and Digital Content Creator for both WZOR and Classic Rock 105.7 WAPL, succeeding Kaytie, who is moving off air to focus on her role as Woodward Radio Group’s Digital Content Coordinator. The news was initially posted on the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association website.
“I literally grew up listening to Razor, and it’s a dream come true to be joining this amazing team at my favorite hometown station,” said the younger Calgaro, an Appleton native. “Razor is such a unique brand and one that I hold very close to my heart. This truly feels like I’m coming home!” Brand Manager Joe Marroe said, “I love the passion that Jake brings to the table. He has lived the Razor and radio lifestyle his whole life. His personality lifts everyone up around him and cannot wait to see what he can do in his role.”
• Fascinating Calgaro Facts: Joe Calgaro is currently OM of Audacy’s Sacramento cluster, but his radio roots run right through the Woodward building, as the former PD of WAPL & WZOR from 1999-2012, Interestingly, Jake Calgaro most recently worked in promotions and production at Saga Active Rock WHQG (102.9 The Hog)/Milwaukee, another station his dad programmed until fall 2018, when he was named PD of WAAF/Boston.
