Pros On The Loose
• RAMP has learned that Brad Austin is exiting his position as Corporate Director of Programming for the Forever Media (former Delmarva Broadcasting Company (now Forever Media) stations, including day-to-day programming oversight (and afternoon drive talent) of Country 103.7 WXCY/Wilmington, DE. It was also announced that Tyler Daniel is moving up from the Breakfast Blend morning show to take over the 3-7pm slot.
In a statement, Austin said, “I leave with my head held high after 6+ years working for Bob Bloom, who is one of the finest human beings, mentors and bosses I’ve ever known. I will miss my incredibly talented staff and our awesome listeners most of all, and please know that I will be rooting for all of them and especially Tyler Daniel, who is stepping into the afternoon slot. It’s not necessarily how I would’ve scripted the story to end, but it’s with great pride that I cheer my friends on from the sidelines as I explore what will come next.”
Austin was hired by former owner Delmarva Broadcasting in July 2013 as OM/PD of WXCY; three years later he was upped to Corporate Director of Programming for the nine Delmarva Broadcasting Company stations, which also included WSTW, WDEL & WFAI/Wilmington, DE and WAFL, WNCL, WAVD, WYUS & WXDE/Salisbury-Ocean City, MD. Austin previously programmed Cumulus Country WTNR (Thunder 94.5)/Grand Rapids, MI and NRG Media Country WYTE & Top 40 WHTQ/Wausau, WI, as well as WGTY/York, PA and WWQM/Madison, WI. Austin is now seeking his next opportunity and can be contacted at MadBradAustin@aol.com.
