AMP Wichita Hires Local GM

• Wichita, KS-based Allied Media Partners (AMP) has hired local media executive Martha Triana as General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the six-station Wichita area radio group its in the process of buying from Rocking M Media, the state’s largest radio operator. Allied Media Partners is locally owned and operated by longtime Wichita residents Matt Baty (CEO) and Tommy Castor (COO). With this acquisition, AMP becomes the only locally owned media company with FMs in the Wichita market.

As RAMP first reported on April 1, Allied Media Partners is currently operating Adult Hits KIBB-FM (97.1 Bob FM), Triple A KVWF-FM (Flight 100.5), Classic Country KKGQ-FM (Kansas Country 92.3) and Rhythmic AC KWME-FM (92.7 The Blast) in Wichita, as well as AC KLEY-FM/AM (The Wave 100.3/1130) in nearby Wellington and Adult Hits KKLE-AM (The Valley 1550) in Winfield, KS.

Triana is a 19-year radio veteran who was most recently the Business Manager for Rocking M in Wichita and previously served in a similar capacity with Connoisseur Media. Triana also has prior human resources and accounting experience with Clear Channel Radio. “To find a Wichita native with the experience, leadership and passion for local radio was paramount to lead this organization,” said Baty. “Martha is deeply rooted in this community and vested in the success and growth of Wichita and most importantly, understands the role a Wichita-based radio company has in our city.”

Triana commented, “Being a lifelong Wichitan, I’m honored and excited to be part of a company so focused on the local community. Over the course of my almost 20-year radio career I’ve watched radio as a whole go from live and local to very buttoned up and corporate. Somewhere along the way the intimate connection to the local audience was lost. With all of my immediate and extended family here, I’m proud to call Wichita home and I’m looking forward to strengthening that very important local relationship with both our listeners and advertisers.”
