Cox Media Group Names RVPs For Radio & TV
Cox Media Group just announced two major executive upgrades — Rob Babin has been named as CMG’s new Regional VP for Radio and Ray Carter is CMG’s newly named Regional VP for Television.
Babin (left) is a 17-year CMG vet who is currently VP/GM of CMG Miami Radio. In his newly enhanced role, Babin will add oversight of CMG’s Houston, Long Island, San Antonio and Tampa radio markets in addition to Miami. He reports to Executive VP Bill Hendrich, who commented, “During his career, Rob has been a strong leader for CMG in Orlando, Atlanta and Miami. He has grown in leadership roles through his ability to hire and develop talented team members, create world-class work environments and deliver results. We are fortunate to have many talented leaders at CMG to consider for critical roles like this. Rob’s understanding of the opportunities ahead, his ability to make positive connections with people and his track record of delivering results equip him to do a fantastic job as our Regional VP.”
Carter (right), currently VP/GM of WPXI-TV/Pittsburgh will now oversee CMG’s Boston, Charlotte, Memphis and Seattle TV markets as well. He reports to EVP Jane Williams, who said, “Ray has been a leader with our Television division for 20 years. He has a successful, proven track record and currently leads one of the top NBC affiliates in the country. As VP/GM Ray has led WPXI-TV to historical ratings and revenue heights. Ray’s passion for this industry is unparalleled, and he is the perfect leader to take advantage of all the new and exciting opportunities facing the television industry.”
