Audacy Swings Into Executive Action

• Audacy announced a half-dozen strategic leadership updates and promotions to bolster the Company’s commitment to its local markets.

The action starts (left to right) with Gina Massenzi, a recent inductee into the Nevada Broadcasters Hall of Fame, who has been promoted from Director of Sales for Audacy Las Vegas to SVP/Market Manager of the six-station group.

Dan Barron, who has served as SVP/Market Manager for Audacy Memphis since 2008, has been tapped as SVP/Market Manager of Audacy New Orleans. He succeeds Kevin Cassidy, who was named SVP/Market Manager of Audacy Chicago in December 2023.

Bob Mackay, who had served as SVP/Market Manager for Audacy Austin since 2020, assumes the role of Vice President of Sales for Audacy Dallas.

And there’s more — Three Audacy Regional Presidents will expand their executive oversight — (l-r): Doug Abernethy, who most recently served as interim Market Manager of Audacy Las Vegas, currently oversee ten markets for Audacy, and picks up regional and direct oversight of his home market of Audacy Austin.

Brian Purdy, who has served as a Regional President and Dallas Market Manager since 2017, adds regional oversight for Audacy Chicago, Madison, and Milwaukee, along with his current markets — Austin, Houston, Kansas City, New Orleans, St. Louis and Wichita.

Boston-based Regional President Mark Hannon will assume regional oversight of Audacy Minneapolis, adding to his current portfolio of Boston, Baltimore, Buffalo, Cleveland, Detroit, Hartford, Norfolk, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Providence, Richmond, Rochester, Springfield, Washington D.C. and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Purdy and Hannon have assumed custody of the the Chicago, Madison, Milwaukee and Minneapolis markets previously overseen by Rachel Williamson, who last month was promoted to President of Local Sales Strategy & Innovation.

“We have a very strong leadership team that has enabled us to make strategic changes and promote talent with multi-year track records of success,” said Susan Larkin, Audacy’s Chief Operating Officer. “These leadership moves continue to position our local brands to deliver exceptional listener experiences and client value while reinforcing our commitment to excellence in the communities we serve. We are confident in Gina, Dan, Bob, Doug, Brian and Mark’s ability to drive growth across their respective markets.”
