Executive Action: Mohn, Fuhrman
• Our best wishes go out to NPR President Jarl Mohn, who is recovering at his home in Los Angeles after undergoing heart surgery. The Current reports Mohn required the surgery while on vacation in Utah. NPR spokesperson Isabel Lara declined to disclose why the surgery was necessary but said Mohn had not had a heart attack.
John (left) was released from the hospital last Thursday, and in the interim, the network’s day-to-day operations are being handled by NPR COO Loren Mayor and the NPR senior executive team. In a staff memo, Mayor said Mohn “has been making steady and positive progress,” and “his doctors are very pleased with his recovery.” Most telling of all, Mohn “is on email already,” Lara added.
