Allen Crowned King Of Duke

Allen Ron 2017Congrats to Ron Allen, who has been promoted to the newly created position of Format Captain for Midwest Communications’ Duke FM Classic Country brand. He will retain his existing role as PD of Adult Hits WCJK (96.3 Jack FM)/Nashville. Commenting on his enhanced responsibilities, Allen said, “My two great musical passions are Adult Hits and Country. To be able to continue as Brand Manager for 96.3 Jack FM and work with our Duke FM Brand as Format Captain from my hometown of Nashville is the best of both worlds.” Allen’s Country career began in Tulsa, OK in the late ’80s and he witnessed firsthand the Country boom of the ’90s. He most recently launched and programmed iHeartMedia’s KSWF (100.5 The Wolf)/Wichita, KS before moving to Nashville in 2012 when he took over Jack FM.

There are currently seven Duke FM markets — Knoxville, TN; Evansville, IN; Lansing, MI; Green Bay-Appleton, WI; Duluth, MN; Hibbing, MN and Fargo, ND. Allen’s initial goal as Duke FM Format Captain will be to bring these Duke markets together to share ideas, improve social media skills, consolidate communication with Duke stations and provide individual consultation and more. Having Allen based in Nashville will continue to be a major benefit for the Duke Format as the company continues to embrace more opportunities with the “Legends of Country.”

Allen added, “I would like to thank Duke Wright, Jeff McCarthy and Dennis Gwiazdon for their continued faith in me and look forward to this new challenge.” Allen can be congratulated at ron.allen@mwcradio.com.
