Gardner Calling It A Career
• Longtime broadcast industry executive Carl Gardner, currently SVP/Market Manager for Bonneville San Francisco, announced his retirement, effective at the end of the month, closing this latest chapter in a four-decade career.
In breaking the news of Gardner’s impending departure, Darrell Brown, President of Bonneville International said, “Carl has been a tremendous asset to Bonneville. We will miss his leadership, deep experience and friendship.”

Gardner joined Bonneville in June 2008, a move that returned him to Seattle as VP/Market Manager. He transferred to San Francisco in late 2017 when Bonneville returned to the Bay Area after acquiring Top 40 KMVQ (99.7 NOW), Urban AC KBLX and AC KOIT/San Francisco, Classic Rock KUFX (98.5 K-Fox)/San Jose spun off by Entercom as a condition of its merger with CBS Radio.
Gardner is past chairman of the NAB Radio Board and a past member of the NAB Executive Committee. He has served the broadcasting industry in various capacities, including membership of the Radio Advertising Board of Directors, the Associated Press Advisory Board, and the Washington State Association of Broadcasters Board of Directors. Bonneville says it will announce Gardner’s successor later this month.
