Hubbard Radio Talent Institute Begins Today

• Some 40 broadcasters representing Hubbard Radio, Alpha Media, Bonneville, iHeartMedia, Townsquare and others will convene this morning on the campus of Central Washington University in Ellensburg, WA to kick off the Hubbard Radio Talent Institute, which runs through Wednesday, June 19. Ann Marie Mulholland (left), VP/Market Manager of Hubbard Radio Seattle will anchor today’s opening session.

All sessions will be held on the CWU campus except for one day in Seattle when students are welcomed to Bonneville Seattle Media Group by VP/Market Manager David Pridemore, Mike Salk of 710 ESPNand others, followed by a trip to KIRO-TV 7 and a session with Jill Wiggins, Director of Community Affairs & Strategic Communications at KIRO TV 7.

All students will attend every session, including the RAB Sales course, and each of them will become certified as Radio Marketing Professionals. On Friday, the students will be the live studio audience as The Fitz Morning Show from KNUC (98.9 The Bull)/Seattle broadcasts live from the Institute. On the final day, this year’s students will hear from three former students of the Hubbard Radio Talent Institute who are now working for Hubbard, Entercom and Alpha Media; they will share how they got their careers started.

The Hubbard Radio Talent Institute is the third of eight Radio Talent Institutes this summer from the National Radio Talent System, along with the Beasley Radio Talent Institute at Emerson College in Boston; the Kellar Radio Talent Institute at Appalachian State University; the TAB Radio Talent Institute at the University of Tennessee; the Confer Radio Talent Institute at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania; the GAB Radio Talent Institute at the University of Georgia; the KBA WKU Radio Talent Institute at Western Kentucky University and the MBA Radio Talent Institute at Northwest Missouri State University.
