Kwon Named CFO At NPR
• After an extensive national search, NPR President & CEO John Lansing announced that Daphne Kwon will be NPR’s new Chief Financial Officer, effective June 26. As CFO, Kwon will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial operations, as well as providing effective leadership for the teams that manage NPR’s financial, administrative and facilities operations.
“Daphne is an experienced media industry professional and has a very creative and strategic approach to financial leadership,” Lansing noted. “She is exactly the kind of leader we need to guide us at this time.”
A graduate of Harvard Business School, Kwon is an experienced finance executive who brings with her two decades of experience, most recently at Flipside Crypto, a tech company providing analytics to cryptocurrency organizations. Before that she served as Chief Strategy Officer at the Meredith Corporation, a multiplatform media company that included such brands as PEOPLE, Better Homes & Gardens, and 17 television stations. At Disney/ABC, Kwon led the launch of several digital TV networks, and she also served as CFO at Oxygen Media and Goop.
