• A new management structure was just announced for News-Talk WTMJ-AM and Country WKTI/Milwaukee after the sale from Scripps to Craig Karmazin‘s Good Karma Brands becomes final later this year — according to the Milwaukee Business JournalTom Langmyer (left), who currently serves in the dual role of Scripps VP of News-Talk-Sports Programming and VP/Market Manager of WTMJ & WKTI announced his impending exit upon the closing of the sale, which is expected in October or November. At the same time it was announced that Steve Wexler (right), currently VP of Radio for Scripps, would return to Milwaukee to as VP/GM of both stations.

Langmyer, who has been in place for five years, announced his departure Thursday in a staff memo, which read, in part, “It’s been a true honor to lead our group over these past five years. I’m extremely proud of our terrific team — and honored to have had the opportunity to work with you. I will leave Radio City with a fond place in my heart for you and these terrific stations. I’ll continue to be a cheerleader for the team and for you, individually, for more chapters of personal and group success.”

Prior to arriving in Milwaukee in August 2013, Langmyer spent six months consulting WTMJ, coming off eight years as VP/GM of Tribune’s WGN-AM/Chicago. For Wexler, the move brings his career full-circle — he began his broadcasting journey in 1977 as an intern at WTMJ, which was then owned by Journal Communications. He was on-air at WTMJ and WKTI in the late ’70s and early ’80s before crossing the street as PD of WISN-AM in 1985.
