Osburn Upped To GM Of SoCal’s 88.5

• Public, member-supported 88.5 FM, Southern California’s leading Triple A station has tapped Patrick Osburn as its new General Manager. He succeeds Sky Daniels, who announced his retirement earlier this year. 88.5 is a combined effort of KCSN, a service of California State University, Northridge (CSUN) and KSBR at Saddleback College, in Mission Viejo, CA, which began simulcasting as 88.5 FM in October 2017, linking the Los Angeles County and Orange County-based signals.

Osburn joined the station in 2017, and has been serving as its Director of Business Development. He has spent more than 30 years in the radio industry; 20 of those at Triple A stations.

“Patrick has proven to be a strategic and positive leader who has delivered strong results for 88.5 FM,” said Robert Gunsalus, CSUN’s VP of University Advancement and President of the CSUN Foundation. “Given Patrick’s extensive media experience in Southern California and collaborative style, he is the ideal choice to manage the station and grow services in the community, deepen student engagement and expand listenership.”

Osburn remarked, “After years in commercial media, I’m really enjoying the quality dynamic of public media, and we have an amazing core staff to continue to grow our impact. We look forward to providing listeners, members and sponsors a truly multi-media experience.”
