Roman Named CTO Of MediaCo NYC
• Alex Roman has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer of MediaCo New York Radio, which includes Hip Hop WQHT (Hot 97) and Urban AC WBLS.
In making the announcement of Roman’s upgrade, Patrick Walsh, President and Chief Operating Officer, Emmis Communications and MediaCo Holding, said, “Alex’s experience and insights are invaluable as we continue to build multichannel digital platforms for WBLS and Hot 97. There simply is not anyone like him in our industry and I’m pleased that with this move to CTO we can count on Alex being an important part of our leadership team in the coming years.”
Roman joined Emmis as Director of Integrated Technologies for its New York radio cluster back in 2011. He has been a broadcast engineer for more than 24 years, starting his career in California with positions in Sacramento, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles. His previous New York radio positions include stints as Chief Engineer of WKTU and Director of Engineering for Citadel Broadcasting.
