Song Lyrics Can Work Miracles
• Julien’s Auctions and Music Health Alliance are proud to present their second annual “Handwritten Lyrics Auction,” featuring a spectacular collection of handwritten song lyrics that are being auctioned off, with proceeds to benefit Music Health Alliance’s COVID-19 Relief Plan. The exclusive collection features lyric sheets from hit songs spanning from 1967 to 2021, covering a wide variety of musical genres. Each sheet was personally contributed and signed by the original songwriter or artist themselves. Many of these songs are Grammy Award winners and/or No. 1 hits!
Highlights from this stellar auction include a Cyndi Lauper art display featuring one of her hats and a sheet of handwritten lyrics to her timeless 1983 hit, “Time After Time;” four sheets of lyrics to “Bad to The Bone” handwritten by George Thorogood, with additional illustrations by Thorogood; lyrics to the Carrie Underwood hit “Before He Cheats” handwritten by songwriter Chris Tompkins and signed by both Underwood and Tompkins.
Other signed lyric sheets include Faith Hill‘s “This Kiss,” Frankie Valli‘s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” Lee Ann Womack‘s “I Hope You Dance,” Dan & Shay with Justin Bieber‘s “10,000 Hours,” Lady A‘s “Champagne Night,” Miranda Lambert‘s “Tin Man,” Jason Aldean‘s “Blame It On You,” and Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper‘s “I’ll Never Love Again” from the A Star is Born soundtrack. Other artists represented include Luke Bryan, Rosanne Cash, Tim McGraw, Ronnie Milsap, Maren Morris, Lucinda Williams, and more.
The auction will start closing in real time and in lot order for live bidding at 11am PT on Monday, Nov. 1. Proceeds will benefit Music Health Alliance, whose mission is to Heal the Music by providing access to healthcare through services that protect, direct and connect music professionals with medical and financial situations.
