Taddeo & Luchs Leaving NRG
• Veteran programmer, GM, consultant and owner Jack Taddeo has tendered his resignation as Market Manager of NRG Media’s Waterloo-Cedar Falls-Cedar Rapids, IA cluster — Active Rock KFMW (Rock 108), Classic Hits KOKZ, Top 40 KPTY (107.3 The Party) and News-Talk KXEL-AM — and has accepted a new position TBA. He will be leaving the market in a few weeks; right around the time that the announcement of his new gig is due.
Taddeo remarked, “I’ve enjoyed working for NRG Media and am very grateful to Chuck DuCoty for hiring me, to Mary Quass for her support during the past 3+ years, and to the great staff I have worked with here. I look forward to seeing everyone in Minneapolis at Conclave 43 next week and I’ll have news of my new position very soon.”
Taddeo joined the Cedar Rapids-based NRG in March 2015. His extensive radio resume includes ownership, programming, management and consulting stops in Chicago, Philadelphia, Norfolk and Palm Beach; all major cities in California and both large and mid-size markets in the north and Midwest.
• On an unrelated note, RAMP has confirmed that Kurt Luchs has exited as GM of NRG Media’s seven-station Omaha cluster. Luchs (left) had only been in the building since February, when he was awarded the transfer after a 4 1/2-year stint leading NRG’s four-station group in Wausau-Stevens Point, WI.
Luchs was already familiar with the lay of the Omaha market, having started there back in the day as the GM for Waitt Radio Networks, which NRG owned at the time. Luchs previously served as VP/GM of the American Comedy Network, was a contributing writer to The Late Late Show With Craig Kilborn, and even cooler, he’s been a contributing writer to McSweeney’s since 1999 and a headline contributor to The Onion since 1996! Luchs can now be reached at 203-915-0110 or kurtluchs@aol.com.
