Bobby Mitchell Wakes Up In Columbus

• Saga’s Columbus Radio Group taps Bobby Mitchell as the new morning co-host on AC WSNY (Sunny 95)/Columbus, OH. He will team up with 20-year Sunny 95 vet Stacy McKay starting Monday, July 2. Mitchell arrives sporting a major market pedigree — he most recently co-hosted the morning show on Entercom Classic Hits WOMC/Detroit until January, and he previously spent eight years in morning drive at KPLX/Dallas. He has also worked at WHYI (Y100)/Miami and KKHT/Houston, along with a stint at WHYT/Detroit in the mid-’80s.

Mitchell remarked, “I feel like the guy who was offered a ride on a rocket ship! I don’t care where it’s going — I’m just getting on! To be a part of this heritage radio station, with its incredible staff; and to live and raise my family in Columbus, is very exciting.”

Erik Schmidt, VP/GM of the CRG, commented, “We couldn’t be happier to have Bobby join us as a part of the Columbus Radio Group team! We look forward to this new chapter for Sunny 95.” Sunny 95 OM/PD Michelle Matthews added, “I’m so excited to inject Bobby’s energy, creativity and drive into this already great radio team!”

Mitchell succeeds market mainstay Dino Tripodis, who left the station on June 15 after a 24-year run. Mitchell’s introduction video is posted at Sunny95.com for your viewing pleasure.
