Happy Birth-Versary, Danny Lyons!

• We would be remiss if we didn’t stop down and congratulate Danny Lyons, midday fixture on Connoisseur Media AC WEBE 108/Bridgeport, CT, who today celebrates two major life milestones: 1) his birthday, and 2) his 48th anniversary in the radio industry!

As the story goes, Lyons started in Florida with the idea of stopping in every town on the way back home to Waterbury, CT until a radio station along the way gave him a job. That plan landed him a gig at Sam Phillips‘ WLIZ/West Palm Beach, and then back home to WWCO/Waterbury, followed by stops at WAVZ and KC101/New Haven (pictured, left, circa 1980), the late, legendary WNBC/New York, and for the past 33 years he’s been an institution in middays at WEBE.
