Lamb Sleeps In, Film @ 11am
• Last Friday, January 11, Hampton Roads, VA radio legend Dick Lamb did his final show as host of Dick Lamb and the Morning Wave on Max Media AC WVBW (92.9 The Wave)/Norfolk. However, that doesn’t mean that Lamb is hanging up his headphones… far from it — this morning, Lamb will turn his fulltime attention to Oldies sister WGH-AM (Famous 1310), where he already does middays, and also assumes command of the station as PD.
“I’m excited about Dick Lamb taking over the programming duties on WGH-AM,” said Rusty James, VP of Operations and Programming at Max Media of Hampton Roads. “Dick brings years of programming knowledge, and I get to work side by side with a legend.”
Lamb was famously a co-owner of crosstown AC WWDE (2WD) back in the day and did mornings there from 1978 until January 2005. He debuted on The Wave in July of that year. “It’s been literally 40 years of doing morning radio shows for me,” Lamb said. “I’m not totally going away, but I’m just not going to do morning shows. I still love the job. Still have that pesky mortgage to pay.”
With that said, here is the new line-up on Famous AM 1310 WGH — 6-10am: Jerry Hoyt; 11am-3pm: Dick Lamb; 3-7pm: Gene Loving. Here is the revised line-up on 92.9 The Wave — 5-10am: The Morning Wave with Paul Richardson and Jennifer Roberts; 10am-2pm: Rusty James; 2-7pm: Dino; 7-midnight: Delilah.
