Gooooood Morgan, Raleigh!!!
• Curtis Media Group Adult Hits WBBB (96.1 BBB)/Raleigh announces the welcome return of Morgan Thomas as the station’s new morning host, beginning November 20. Ms. Thomas brings with her a successful history in morning radio in the Triangle, including a prior stint as co-host of the Mike & Morgan Show on Country clustermate WQDR from 2001 until 2004. From 2004-2010 Thomas co-hosted the morning show on KSON/San Diego. Her return to WBBB marks a radio homecoming of sorts, as she formerly co-hosted the Morgan and Mad Dog show on 96.1’s earlier incarnation as WKIX.
Curtis Media Group SVP/GM David Stuckey commented, “Morgan is a proven major market personality, and I’m very pleased to welcome her back to Raleigh on 96.1 BBB.” He continued, “Developing our morning show to match the stations incredible ratings performance is our next step in making WBBB the dominant radio brand in the Triangle.” Thomas said, “When a listener invites you into their car or into their kitchen or into their workplace through their radio, that’s special. It’s a very special relationship. You get to share life! I miss that — and I’m excited to dive back into my hometown of Raleigh!”
The WBBB morning show was most recently occupied by former PD Tim Maranville, who recently left to become President/General Manager of the future KGGN-FM in Hemet, CA, owned by Cornerstone Church.
