Happy 26th, Jack & Jimmy!

• I’d like to pause on this occasion to send love and virtual hugs to my longest (not oldest) radio friend, the legendary Jack Diamond, and his co-host Jimmy Alexander, enjoyed weekdays on Manning Media Classic Hits WWEG (106.9 The Eagle)/Frederick, MD, who yesterday celebrated a very special anniversary — 26 years together on The Jack Diamond Morning Show.

The relationship between Jack and Jimmy (seen here attempting to navigate what appears to be some mutant Strawberry-Clam Frappuccino) dates back to 1997 — Jack was seven years into his lengthy stint at the late, great WRQX (Mix 107.3)/Washington when he hired Jimmy as a producer and sidekick. “Obviously, we got along brilliantly on and off the air and had a lot of fun on and off air,” Diamond tells RAMP. “He later became a co-host, and we hired another producer. And as you would expect after 26 years, we have shared every emotion and life event possible — literally from births to deaths and everything in between.”

Diamond continued, “We’ve traveled the world together, and brought listeners along and shared all of those experiences on the air and in social. We were one of the first shows to take a big group of listeners to Iceland before it exploded in popularity. Also did the show from the Tower of London, with listeners, all over the Caribbean, cruises, Las Vegas. It’s been an amazing time!”

Watch Jack, Jimmy and Jack’s wife & co-host Lisa Anne share some favorite memories in a video posted to Facebook.
