McDowell Ready To Call It A Career

• Stand by for the corporately sanctioned, quote-filled formal announcement, but RAMP has learned that the employees and listeners of iHeartMedia Classic Rock WDVE/Pittsburgh will have to make some difficult mental preparations for life after the impending retirement of afternoon drive legend Sean McDowell, who is hanging up his headphones on July 31, wrapping up an amazing 41-year radio career, the last 26 with WDVE.

McDowell (pictured, left), started his career with WYDD/New Kensington, PA in 1978, and the rest, as they say, is radio history.

McDowell broke the big news himself during an appearance on Randy Baumann‘s morning show. Check out the audio posted on the WDVE website.
