Must Be Damn Fine Burgers

• Bright and early Thursday morning, Big Jim & Ryan from the Big Jim’s House morning show on Beasley Classic Rock 94.7 WCSX/Detroit will fire up a borrowed Shelby Mustang (generously provided by Ford) and hit the road. Their destination: St. Ignace, MI, the gateway to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, some 300 miles north — the next leg of their Ultimate Restaurant Road Trip, and the latest chapter in the show’s ongoing quest to raise money to provide meals for veterans returning home from military service.

Over the past three months, Big Jim’s House has supported small, locally-owned restaurants throughout the Motor City. Today, their campaign takes them north, across the mighty Mackinac Bridge and over to Clyde’s Burgers Drive-In in St. Ignace. Along the way, the duo will be asking for a $10 donation for each mile traveled as well as sponsorship donations to raise money to benefit Veterans Returning Home, a non-profit organization dedicated to feeding area veterans. “It’s an absolute honor to raise money for a great organization like Vets Returning Home,” said Big Jim. “I spent eight years in the service, and thank God for the men and women who I served with! Anything we can do to make sure they know how much we care about them is time and money well spent!”

“Nothing resonates more than authenticity,” said Scott Jameson, Beasley VP of National Content and Director of Detroit Programming. “Big Jim and Ryan exemplify local radio, connecting emotionally with our listeners every day.”

Big Jim’s House Ultimate Restaurant Road Trip has already received donations from former Detroit Lions’ player TJ Lang, the Roger Penske Corporation, Paul Rodgers, lead singer of Bad Company, Phil Collen, lead guitarist of Def Leppard, Detroit Red Wings’ great Darren McCarty and Paul Glantz, CEO of Emagine Theatres. To make a donation, simply text ROAD to 248-398-9279. Big Jim’s House Ultimate Restaurant Road Trip is presented by Auto Owners Insurance and the EW Smith Agency.
