Taking Charity To New Heights

Shelli Sonstein, co-host of the Jim Kerr Rock & Roll Morning Show on iHeartMedia Classic Rock WAXQ (Q104.3)/New York is a longtime advocate for 9-11 survivors and an avid supporter of New York area First Responders. She has been recognized by many organizations for her efforts and will take that support to new heights — literally — this Sunday, June 3 when she participates in the 4th Annual Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Tower Climb.

Sonstein will be climbing the full 104 flights of stairs inside One World Trade Center in support of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s mission to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller, an off-duty New York firefighter who on Sept. 11, 2001 was in Brooklyn about to play golf with his brothers when the first plane hit the twin towers. In full 65-pound fire gear, Siller ran through the closed Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the WTC, where he perished with his other FDNY brothers.

In addition to supporting firefighters, the Foundation provides valuable assistance to families of first responders, police officers and military personnel, including paying mortgages and other expenses of heroes killed in the line of duty, thereby lessening the incredible burden on their loved ones. Shelli is respectfully requesting the support of her many industry friends and fans — to make a donation, please visit Q1043.com.
